The town responded to feedback from citizens and developed a multifaceted program to revitalize its efforts to inform and engage members of the community. The new communications strategy consists of three primary components. First, the Bartonville website was redesigned to include important information on elections, audits and budgets, public hearings, codes and ordinances, new resident information, overviews of departments and services, and access to the community calendar. The second component is an online notification service that pushes important updates to subscribers, including council meeting notices and agenda summaries. The final piece is a printed quarterly bulletin that features information on special events, town services, meeting dates, and other important notices. Combined, these three communication efforts help ensure that all residents are kept informed of critical issues facing the city.
